Mark, Davis, and I took a trip down to Twin this weekend for Rotary Mid-Winter Assembly.  Mid-Winter assembly is a terrific opportunity to share ideas with other club leaders and recharge your Rotary battery.  Davis was so excited, he pledged 10% of the winnings from his birthday Jackpot trip!  I sure hope he did well!

I always come away with a renewed understanding of how fortunate we are, first as a club, then as a district.  As a club putting on the Duck Race is a huge effort.  It's easy to forget that most other clubs don't have that kind of opportunity at all.  Many clubs struggle to find the funds for a single scholarship, let alone think about building up their foundation fund as we do.  And it's a delight to see how they adapt and do something else instead.

Marianne Barker (District Governor Nominee) gave a presentation on her recent trip to Ethiopia for a National Immunization Day.  An NID is when Rotarians get to show up and actually put those 2 drops of polio vaccine into a child's mouth.  Marianne got to do it 25 times!  25 children safe from polio.

If you haven't made it to a district event yet, you should give it a try.  You might be surprised at what an inspiring way it is to spend a day.
